  • Before applying for your visa to Russia, applicants should decide the visa subclass under which they wish to lodge their visa application.

AFTER SUBMISSION

  • When your passport is ready to be collected, you may come to the Visa Application Centre with your visa fee receipt and a Hong Kong ID Card or any other identity document. Please be advise to provide .related documents in order to collect the passport on behalf of the applicant (Marriage certificate, Birth certificate or Authorization letter).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


1.Should I make an appointment to submit documents at the Visa Application Centre?

No appointment is required at the Visa Application Centre. You can submit your application within the working hours - from 09.00 to 15.00, from Monday to Friday excluding public holidays and closures.


2.Who issues Visas to Russia in Hong Kong?

Visas are issued by The Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Hong Kong.


3.Is Russian visa valid for Russia only?

Yes, Russian visa is valid for Russia only.


4.Can the Russian Visa Application Centre prepare my application for me?

The Russian Visa Application Centre does not prepare visa applications, but accepts and processes applications in accordance with The Russian Consulate’s instructions.


5.How early can I apply?

Applicants are advised to apply in advance but not earlier then 90 days prior to the date of travel.  Important!Tourist visa application must be made at least 4 working days prior to planned entry into Russia.


6.Do I have to come personally or can I send the application to the Russian Visa Application Centre?

You can submit your printed and signed application form with all the additional documents and fees to the Russian Visa Application Centre in person or through a representative. Please prepare for an authorization letter if you wish to submit your application through a representative. Please note that the visa application form must be signed by you personally. If your visa form needs to be amended at the Centre, your representative will not be allowed to sign on your behalf.



7.Will the Russian Visa Application Centre give me acknowledgement of the documents that I have submitted?

The Russian Visa Application Centre will not issue any documents other than the receipts for fees collected.


8.Will I get my visa at the end of the process?

The Russian Visa Application Centre will not be able to guarantee you a visa. The issuance or refusal of a visa is the sole prerogative of The Consulate General of the Russian Federation. The Russia Visa Application Centre cannot influence this decision in any way.


9.Can I call to know whether my Visa application was successful?

The Visa Application Centre is not authorized to comment the decisions made by The Russian Consulate on your visa application. You will know the decision once the passport is collected from the Visa Application Centre / courier. 


10.Will my fees be refunded if my visa is refused?

All fees are non-refundable and will not be refunded if your visa application is not successful.


11.Can I pay the visa fee by credit/debit card and what are the other modes of payment?

Payments can be made at the Russian Visa Application Centre in Hong Kong dollars by cash only. Please note that we do not accept 1000 HKD banknote.


12.How long will my application take to process?

Processing time under normal circumstances are as follows:

·      Normal application – 6 to 20 working days (including day of submission)

·      Urgent application – 2 working days (including day of submission).

Please note that the Russian Consulate reserves the right to process applications longer if interviews or additional clarifications are required.
